[Biographies] Chad's interest in ministry was first sparked by a missions trip to Calcutta, India, during which he worked with Susanta Patra and in homes set up by Mother Theresa. From that time on, he felt a desire to teach overseas. Under the mentoring of Kurt and Lori Salierno, Chad's call to ministry was clarified. In 2001, Chad left his home church (Town Center Community) in Marietta, Georgia, and his job as a band director to assist a new church plant in Auckland, New Zealand. Chad began serving at Auckland International Church (AIC) in January 2001 as the youth and music pastor. Soon after he arrived in New Zealand, Chad met Diane at Auckland International Church (that was to become Westside Christian Fellowship in 2007). Diane had been studying at the University of Auckland and was introduced to the church by her former pastor from the Church of God in Singapore, Neivelle Tan. Diane's life up to that point had been a journey in many ways. Born in the Netherlands to parents from Singapore, she moved many times with her family during her childhood until they finally settled in New Zealand. There, she completed her studies in film and, after praying earnestly for a job, acquired one at Shine TV, the country's pioneer Christian television station. During this time, she served at AIC on the worship team as a pianist and a bass player and later became involved with the youth as a leader. On January 15, 2005, Chad and Diane were married. The Davenports now work in full-time ministry at Westside Christian Fellowship (formerly AIC). In 2006, David Ravell, founder and senior pastor of AIC, moved to Australia to plant a church. Chad then took his place as senior pastor, with Diane working as a worship leader and administrator. The church continues to grow today on Te Atatu Peninsula where both Chad
and Diane continue to serve. If you are ever in the Auckland area, please
